Kathy Vogt - Vogt Farm
I was a stay at home Mom and the "go-fer" for my husband's business. 1987 was a bad year for the farmer and his relationship with the bank. We are not a true farm (with many acres) but we are in agri--business. The bank said they wanted to see more cash-flow and as I stood before my husband's desk I volunteered to go back to work even though my skills were now being done by computer. "No way, I need you at home" he said. So I thought on this a few hours and decided the only other skill I had was sewing. Now I loved to sew for myself and the girls but not for other people. So I took myself to the office with this piece of news and informed him that I didn't want to sew for other people. He looked at me and said "Why don't we do a Bed and Breakfast?" He had never even stayed in a B&B. I love to cook - just not breakfast, besides, what would I make? I taught the girls to pour cereal at a very early age. "What will I serve?" "I'm sure you can find something in those 100+ cookbooks you have." I found 3 main dishes that I thought would do. The good news is I've learned that I like to make breakfast and have expanded the repertoire so that even 14 day stays do not get the same dish twice. We've had to make adjustments in our lives to be innkeepers, but we love what we do. We often comment that it must be awful to have to go to work at a job you abhor.

Elissa Noble - The Noble House
Experience the magic of yesteryear, surrounded by family heirlooms, art and fresh flowers. All guest rooms have private baths and fireplaces. The "romance of the rails" is captured in the train theme room and there is also a cozy bungalow. However, breakfast is a very special occasion! Served by candlelight in front of the fireplace, crystal, china and silver set the mood for a wonderful day. Guests enjoy our central location which is convenient to all of the area's attractions, fine dining and antiquing. The Noble House is founded upon the principle of caring and sharing...and that is what we are all about.
